hoi,

die kollaboration baker-lackerschmid ist bischen verwirrend:

baker-lackerschmid : ballads for two
1979
Inakustik 856

The first of three recordings with the young vibraphonist. The better cuts (#2,4,6) can be found on "Why Shouldn't You Cry" along with the best of the other 2 dates. Chet sounds tired in most of the other cuts. Chet and "Lacky" re-recorded "Why Shouldn't" in 1987 and improved on it greatly.

Personnel:
Chet Baker - Trumpet
Wolfgang Lackerschmid - Vibraphone

Tracks:
1. Blue Bossa (Dorham) - (3:46)
2. Five Years Ago (Lackerschmid) - 3:45
3. Why Shouldn't You Cry (Lackerschmid) - 4:40
4. Dessert (Baker/Lackerschmid - 6:56
5. Softly, As In A Morning Sunrise (Hammerstein/Romberg) - 6:06
6. You Don't Know What Love Is (DePaul/Raye) - 7:50
7. Waltz For Susan (Lackerschmid) - 3:51

baker-lackerschmid

Inakustik 857
The second of three recordings with the young vibraphonist. Once again, the best tracks (#2,4,6) can be found on "Why Shouldn't You Cry" along with the best of the other 2 dates. Chet's playing is much better here, and he is aided my some pretty good sidemen. Most of the tunes are originals penned by Lackerschmid and his band.

Personnel:
Chet Baker - Trumpet, vocals
Wolfgang Lackerschmid - Vibraphone
Larry Coryell - Guitar
Buster Williams - Bass
Tony Williams - Drums

Tracks:
1. Mr. Biko (Williams) - 9:03

3. The Latin One (Coryell) - 2:25
4. Rue Gregoire du Tour (Coryell) - 6:32
5. Here's That Rainy Day (Van Heusen) - 4:14
6. Toku Do (Williams) - 6:28

Buster Williams - Bass
Tony Williams - Drums
Nicola Stilo - Guitar

2. You Don't Know What Love Is (DePaul/Raye) - 7:52
3. Rue Gregoire du Tour (Coryell) - 6:37
4. Balzwaltz (Lackerschmid) - 6:49
5. Five Years Ago (Lackerschmid) - 3:46
6. Waltz for Berlin (Lackerschmid) - 7:18
7. Dessert (Baker/Lackerschmid) - 6:56
